On May 29, 2026, the Berlin Network of Labor Market Research (BeNA) hosted its BeNA Summer Workshop at DIW Berlin. The one-day workshop provided young labor economists the opportunity to present and discuss their current research with other participants and senior researchers.
The workshop featured two interesting keynotes on “Natural Language and Labor Markets” by Benjamin Arold (University of Cambridge) and “Wage Regulation and Labor Supply in Long-Term Care: Evidence from Germany’s 2022 Wage Mandate Reform” by Iris Kesternich (University of Hamburg).
Participants discussed their projects in presentation sessions and a poster session. The workshop was marked by vivid discussions throughout the day.

Guillermo Woo-Mora (Paris School of Economics) was awarded the BeNA Innovative Research Award for his excellent project “Skin Tone Penalties: Quasi-Experimental Evidence on Colorism in Football”. Congratulations!

We thank everyone who contributed to this year’s workshop and look forward to continuing the tradition of fostering academic exchange and collaboration in the Berlin labor economics community. We especially thank the workshop organizers for their excellent work.
