BeNA organizes a weekly seminar during the semester. The Berlin Applied Micro Lunch is jointly organized together with the research group Transformations in the Labor Market. It provides an informal, constructive space for researchers in and around Berlin working on applied microeconomics to present their work and exchange feedback.

The seminar takes place every Monday from 1:00 to 1:45 pm at DIW Berlin, right before the Berlin Applied Micro Seminar (BAMS), which hosts invited speakers for long-format talks. The seminars take place in the same room to make them accessible for a large audience of researchers located in Berlin and Brandenburg.

A light lunch is provided. Presentations often feature early-stage projects and research ideas, making the series an ideal venue for constructive discussion and input from peers.

Researchers can sign up for presentation slots on a first-come, first-served basis and are encouraged to attend other sessions to support the community. The new slots are announced via the BeNA newsletter and our cooperating partner’s mailing lists before the start of each semester. Researchers interested in presenting can sign up via a google sheet. Weekly reminders about upcoming talks are sent with the BAMS reminders.
