On Tuesday 17 June, RFBerlin welcomes Shulamit Kahn, Professor at Boston University’s Questrom School of Business. She will present her research on how STEM PhDs decide where to work after graduation, focusing on the trade-offs between staying in the US, returning home, or relocating to a third country. Using data from 2010–2021 and migration models, she explores how factors like salary, job sector, researcher “ability,” and political stability shape these choices and affect countries’ ability to attract and retain top scientific talent.
This seminar is part of the RFBerlin Applied Economics Seminar series, which invites researchers to Berlin to present their work and engage in discussion. The event is open to the public and especially intended for an academic audience.
Location: RFBerlin Office, Gormannstraße 22, 10119 Berlin
