This scientific writing skills camp takes place virtually on October 27 and 28, from 1 to 5 pm. It will provide scientists with the tools they need to craft an effective and competitive grant or fellowship application. It focuses on the research proposal, with included tips for the CV and personal statement.
Goals:
- Learn how to effectively organize a research proposal
- Understand the key parts of a proposal and the most effective presentation/ordering
- Provide directly applicable formulas to simplify writing and save time
- Increase impact by writing with the grant reviewer in mind

Participants will leave the workshop with:
- A solid understanding of the focus and composition of the main parts of a research proposal
- Knowledge of what to include and how to structure it effectively (how to draft)
- Directly applicable formulas for writing key sections (save time drafting)
- Tips with crafting a enticing CV and personal statement
Participants say that after the workshop, they:
- Understand the differences between manuscripts and proposals and how to write accordingly
- Feel more comfortable writing a grant proposal
- Know what information to include and what to leave out
- Save time structuring their grant application
