The Institute for Employment Research (IAB) and the Institute of Education at the University College London (UCL) jointly organize the 1st Workshop on School-to-Work Transitions and Consequences for Individual Life Courses, which takes place on April 4th and 5th 2019 in Nuremberg.
To explore the dynamics of the school-to-work transition and its consequences across the life course in the context of educational expansion and technological change the IAB and the UCL jointly set up the Anglo-German Early Career Quantitative Education and Labour Market Research Network. The workshop organisers appreciate contributions from quantitative education or labour market researchers (economists, sociologists, psychologists, or a related social science discipline) who carry out research on the school-to-work transition and its consequences in the UK or Germany using (quasi-) experimental designs or longitudinal data. Applicants should be close to completing a Ph.D. or be within seven years of receipt of a PhD.
To apply, please send a letter of motivation, CV, and a sample piece of research (i.e. a paper, published or unpublished, on this topic) by October 15th 2018 to email@example.com. Participants (ten will be based in Germany and 10 in the UK) will be notified of the acceptance of their application by 12 November 2018.
