2 PhD Positions @ IAB Nuremberg

The Institute for Employment Research (IAB) is looking for two Ph.D. students in Economics to be part of the EU funded Marie Skłodowska-Curie Innovative Training Network “Global mobility of employees” (http://www.glomo.eu). The two three-year Ph.D positions starting on 1 September 2018 are located in the IAB research departments “Migration and International Labour Studies” and “Education, Training, and Employment Over the Life Course”.

Specifically, we seek

– one Ph.D. student in Economics (ESR12) in the project “Implications of educational system: The Bologna process and global mobility of human capital” (http://www.glomo.eu/wp-content/uploads/2018/01/ESR12_IAB-FINAL.pdf)

– one Ph.D. student in Economics (ESR13) in the project “Implications of gender-specific policies” (http://www.glomo.eu/wp-content/uploads/2018/01/ESR13_IAB-FINAL.pdf)

Candidates should have a relevant university degree (master’s degree or equivalent) in Economics with a focus on empirical labour economics, economics of education, international economics, or related fields. Successful candidates should demonstrate outstanding academic achievements and excellent knowledge in quantitative methods, as well as a willingness to enrich the academic community and advice policy makers.

The positions are available to early stage researchers who are at the date of recruitment in the first four years of their research careers (full-time equivalent research experience) and have not been awarded a doctoral degree. The candidates must not have resided or carried out their main work or study activity in Germany for more than 12 months in the 3 years immediately before the recruitment date, and they must not have spent more than 12 months in the 3 years immediately before the recruitment date at IAB.
